Your kitchen is the heart of your home, and a great kitchen remodel transforms not just one room but your entire relationship with your house. At MM Home Improvements, we approach every kitchen renovation on the Main Line as a bespoke design-and-build project — beginning with an architect to maximize your layout, then handcrafting every element from custom cabinet millwork to tile installations that honor your home's character.

We work exclusively with high-end materials: quartzite and marble countertops, inset cabinetry with soft-close hardware, natural stone or large-format porcelain tile floors, and chef-grade appliances. Every choice is calibrated to the architecture of your home — a 1920s Narberth Victorian gets different treatment than a 1960s Wayne colonial, and we know the difference.

How We Approach Kitchen Remodeling

Our one-project-at-a-time policy means your kitchen renovation receives our full attention. You will never compete for our crew's time with another client's bathroom remodel. Zsolt is personally present on your site throughout the project, ensuring the European-trained craftsmanship that defines our work is applied consistently from framing to final hardware installation.

We handle everything: structural changes for open-plan conversions, island additions, appliance relocation, plumbing and electrical coordination, custom hood installation, backsplash and tile work, and finish carpentry. Your project manager is Zsolt himself — not a subcontractor or site supervisor — from the first design conversation through the final walkthrough.

Our Kitchen Remodeling Process

How It Works

1

Design consultation with Zsolt and your architect.

We walk your existing kitchen, discuss lifestyle needs, review inspiration images, and develop a preliminary design concept with layout options.

2

Detailed design and material selection.

We prepare construction drawings, finalize cabinetry specifications, select all materials (countertops, tile, hardware, appliances), and produce a comprehensive scope of work with line-item pricing.

3

Permit acquisition and pre-construction coordination.

We file permit applications, place all custom orders with lead time in mind, and schedule trades (plumbing, electrical) to eliminate sequencing delays.

4

Demolition and rough-in.

We protect your home, execute selective or full demolition, and complete structural framing, plumbing rough-in, and electrical rough-in with inspections at every required stage.

5

Finish phase: cabinet installation, countertops, tile, flooring, painting, and hardware.

We complete all finish trades in the correct sequence, ending with appliance installation, touch-up, and the final walkthrough with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a kitchen remodel cost on the Main Line?
Our kitchen renovation projects typically run from $75,000 to $200,000 depending on scope, layout changes, and material selections. A partial refresh (new cabinets, countertops, backsplash) in an existing layout starts around $60,000–$80,000. A full gut renovation with structural changes, custom cabinetry, and premium materials typically runs $120,000–$200,000+. We provide a detailed line-item estimate after the design consultation, with no surprises at billing.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Our Main Line kitchen renovations typically run 10–14 weeks from contract to final walkthrough. The timeline includes 3–4 weeks for design finalization and material lead times, 1–2 weeks for permit processing, and 6–8 weeks of active construction. We provide a week-by-week project schedule at contract signing and update you each Friday on progress and the following week's plan.
Do we need to move out during the kitchen renovation?
Most of our clients remain in their homes during kitchen renovations. We set up a temporary kitchen area in another room, maintain a clean and organized work site, and schedule the noisiest and dustiest work (demolition, floor grinding) during agreed-upon hours. We use dust barriers and clean daily. Clients with young children or extensive allergies sometimes choose to stay elsewhere during the first week of demolition, but it is not required.
Do you pull permits for kitchen renovations?
Yes — always. In Lower Merion Township, Radnor Township, Narberth Borough, and throughout the Main Line municipalities, kitchen renovations involving structural changes, plumbing relocation, or electrical work require permits. We handle all permit applications, coordinate inspections, and provide permit-ready drawings. Attempting a significant kitchen remodel without permits creates problems when you sell the home, and we never recommend it.
